Message from the SCS Alumni Board President

Mary Ramsey Evans

Welcome alumni of the School of Continuing Studies and its predecessor, University College. It is our mission to benefit the school, our students, and our alumni through projects and programs that provide scholarship and opportunities for service and fellowship. Last year we co-sponsored a new scholarship with the SCS Student Government Association, hosted social events in October and February, hosted fundraisers in the fall and spring, and participated in numerous events related to the inauguration of our new president. This year we have many more activities planned beginning with a breakfast reception and campus tour on Saturday, October 24th (Homecoming) that will highlight the benefits available to all alumni. We feel strongly that a cooperative partnership between students, alumni, and staff advances our mission and creates a culture of giving that benefits the entire SCS community. Please take a moment to browse our site to learn more about our organization and the many exciting opportunities to get involved with alma mater. On this web site, you will find links to the following:

I am very proud of the education I received at SCS. It allowed me to pursue my love of literature into graduate school, where I earned a Master’s Degree in English in 2006. I feel it is important to give something back to the school that gave me so much. Won’t you join me? Please contact me at scsalumni@richmond.edu with any suggestions and/or comments that will help the alumni association to better serve you.

I look forward to seeing you on campus very soon. Go Spiders!

Mary
