    Thursday, June 10, 2010  Young grads gathered at Stronghill Dining Company before heading to a Flying Squirrels game at The Diamond.

    Saturday, May 15, 2010  Young grads, family and friends enjoyed the beautiful weather while cheering on the 78th running of the Strawberry Hill Races at the UR tent.

    December 1, 2009:  Young alumni were invited to Banana Republic at Stony Point Fashion Park for Dress for Sucess: Trends in Workplace and Holiday Attire.  Guests were treated to a presentation and fashion show, refreshments and were able to meet with Career Development Center staff members to review their resumes.

    Fall 2009  Pre-game tailgates were hosted in Spider Town prior to home football games during the 2009 season.   Alumni, family and friends gathered to cheer on the Spiders as they made their way to the NCAA Quarterfinals!

    Wednesday, September 23, 2009:  Young grads gathered at Easy Street to welcome the Class of 2009 to Richmond and the alumni family.

    Saturday, June 6, 2009:  Young grads, family and friends from Charlottesville to Virginia Beach enjoyed an afternoon with the pros, Leighann Albaugh and Adam Decker, at UR's Golf Facility for a Group Golf Lesson. A great time was had by all. Check out the pictures from the event!

    Saturday, April 11, 2009:  Young grads, family and friends all braved the weather as they cheered on the 77th running of the Strawberry Hill Races at the UR Casablanca themed tent.

    Tuesday, March 31, 2009: Young Grads explored the world of Italian cuisine where the focus is on fresh ingredients, prepared correctly and carefully, combined with the blossoming flavors of spring during a Springtime in Tuscany Cooking Class taught by our very own, Martin Gravely, R'90. Special thanks to Kate Schmuttenmaer, '07 for hosting the event.

    Wednesday, March 11, 2009: Young Grads gathered at one of Richmond's newest wine bars, Magnolias Wine Bar & Bistro, for a wine tasting. A great time was had by all and special thanks goes to Kate Hibbard, '06 for hosting this event.  Check out some pictures from the event!

    Tuesday, January 6, 2009: Young Grads shared their best networking tips with future alumni during a New Year's Career Networking Happy Hour with the Class of 2009 at Gibson's Grill.

    Tuesday, November 2, 2008: Outfits for Every Occasion: Young Grads gathered for an evening filled with fashion tips from the experts at Banana Republic and career advice from Katybeth and Joclyn from the CDC. Special thanks to Julie Ruettgers, '05 and Abby Ward, '03 for hosting this event.

    Thursday, November 6, 2008: Dr. Amy Howard lead a discussion on ways alumni can be engaged with the community during November's Town Hall Meeting. Special thanks to Tim Wilson, '06 for organizing the event.

    Saturday, October 25, 2008: Young Grads from near and far came out to Blackfinn for the Young Grad Reunion during Homecoming Weekend. Check out pictures from the weekend!

    Wednesday, September 17, 2008:  The Class of 2008 was welcomed by young grads in the area at a happy hour at deLux Diner & Lounge.

    Saturday, April 12, 2008: 76th Running of the Strawberry Hill Race: Another Strawberry Hill Race has passed and without fail good food and company was had by all at this sold-out event. 

    Wednesday, February 20, 2008: Tax seminar for young grads: With tax day quickly approaching, local young grads learned about filing personal tax returns, rebates, credits, and much more.

    Saturday, February 16, 2008: Young Grad Wine Tasting at Barrel Thief Wine.  The tasting of high-end French wines was presented by fellow young grad McLean Turner, '05 of Barrel Thief Wine. 

    Monday, January 21, 2008: Jet Setting, Spider Style- Young Grads gathered to learn about new trends in the travel industry, budget travel, adventure travel, etc.  Panelists included Lee Gimpel, '99, Travel Writer; Geri Jones, W'84, President of Accent-on-Travel; and Kristin Woods, Executive Director for Alumni Relations. 

    Wednesday, January 16, 2008: UR vs. St. Bonaventure Men's Basketball game with a pre-game reception at the Cellar.

    Saturday, December 8, 2007: In the spirit of giving during the holiday season, a group of young grads volunteered at the Salvation Army Angel Tree project. 

    Friday, December 7, 2007: Local alumni again gathered at Buffalo Wild Wings to cheer on the Spiders in the NCAA semifinal game against Appalachian State University.

    Saturday, December 1, 2007: A great crowd of young grads met at Buffalo Wild Wings to cheer on the Spiders to victory in the NCAA quarterfinal playoff game against the Wofford Terriers.

    Fall 2007: The Young Graduates Council sponsored tailgates in Spider Town for each homegame of the 2007 football season.  Thanks to all who helped and attended the festivities!

    Wednesday, October 24, 2007: Young Grads laid the groundwork for lifelong financial fitness at a workshop with Mike Lewandowski, '73, of the Virginia Society of CPA's.

    Wednesday, September 5, 2007: Young Grads welcomed our newest alumni at Europa Mediterranean Cafe.

    Tuesday, July 31, 2007 Young grads sampled over a dozen varieties of wine and enjoyed their culinary accompaniments at Rare Olde Times.

    Thursday, June 7, 2007 Young Grads met new and old Spider friends at Bandito's Burrito Lounge for a summer happy hour.

    Thursday, May 17, 2007 Young Grads, members of the UR Alumni Association, and staff from Recreation and Wellness mingled at the Healthy Happy Hour, and toured the new Weinstein Center for Recreation and Wellness .

    Friday, May 4, 2007 Young Grads gathered at New York Deli for the May First Friday Happy Hour.

    Saturday, April 14, 2007 Young Grads gathered along the rails of Colonial Downs for the 75th running of the Strawberry Hill races. The theme for this year's races was "Diamond Jubilee."

    Friday, January 5, 2007 Young grads gathered at Bandito's for the January First Friday Happy Hour to network and socialize with new and old friends. 

    Saturday, November 11, 2006 Young grads gathered for pre-game festivites and then cheered on the Spiders as they took on the Towson Tigers for the last home game of the season.  

    Wednesday, November 8, 2006 Young Grads explored the flavors of the Iberian Peninsula in a Spanish Tapas cooking class with UR's own Chef Martin Gravely, '90.

    Saturday, October 21, 2006 Old and new friends reunited at the Young Grad Reunion for Homecoming 2006 downtown at Bank.

     Young grads from across the country gathered at the Hospitality Tent for the homecoming tailgate and game against the JMU Dukes.

     

    Wednesday, September 20, 2006  Young Grads gathered at Sine Irish Pub for a happy hour to welcome the Class of 2006 to the Richmond area. 

    Thursday, August 10, 2006  The Greater Richmond Alumni Chapter & local young grads watched the Richmond Braves take on the Norfolk Tides and enjoyed a southern style BBQ with all the fixin's in the Picnic Pavilion before the game. 

    Thursday, June 1, 2006   Young grads were invited to a cooking class, “Appetizers of the World,” with Martin Gravely, a chef in the School of Continuing Studies Culinary Program and owner of Personal Culinary Services.  Chef Gravely provided hands-on instruction for creating appetizers that can be used in every day life from around the world.

    Saturday, April 15, 2006   74th Annual Strawberry Hill Races at Colonial Downs; defending champions in the annual tailgate competition. The theme for this year's races was "Colts, Celts, & Kilts".

    Monday, March 13, 2006   The Professional Development Committee of the Young Graduates Council invited young grads to Decorating 101.  This FREE session was led by Certified Interior Designer, Tiffany Metacarpa, J’98, owner of “A Great Room”, and taught attendees the basics on how to give every room in their house or apartment that professional look for less! 

    Tuesday, February 28, 2006   The Professional Development Committee of the Young Graduates Council invited young grads to an evening of wine tasting and networking at The Melting Pot.  Those in attendance learned tips on wine and food pairing, ordering wine at restaurants, and choosing a good bottle of wine from the store.  Four wines from around the world were sampled - the first two paired with cheese fondue and the second two with chocolate fondue!

    Tuesday, November 22, 2005   The Young Graduates Council sponsored a food drive at the men's basketball game against UVA. Every donor received free vouchers to the December 2 Longwood men's basketball game.

    Friday, November 11, 2005   Back by popular demand!  Young grads were invited to a second "30-Minute Meals" cooking class with Martin Gravely, a chef in the School of Continuing Studies Culinary Program and owner of Personal Culinary Services.

    Wednesday, October 19, 2005   Young grads were invited to a cooking class, “30-Minute Meals,” with Martin Gravely, a chef in the School of Continuing Studies Culinary Program and owner of Personal Culinary Services.  Chef Gravely provided hands-on instruction for creating “fancy” fare that doesn’t take hours to make.


    Thursday, September 1, 2005   UR football hosted UMASS for the first game of the season. Before the game, the Young Grad Council hosted a tailgate in Spider Town, serving up burgers, hot dogs and all the fixins' as well as cold beverages.  

    Monday, August 8, 2005   Young grads were invited to attend the Young Graduate Council's first meeting of the 2005-06 academic year.

    Wednesday, April 20, 2005   An event at the Cellar, "Making Your UR Connections Work for You", presented by professional networking advisor Jim Roman.
