    The Greater Richmond Alumni Chapter was formed in July 2003 and serves the approximately 12,000 alumni living in the Richmond metropolitan area.  The group was originially the Richmond Club of the Westhampton College Alumnae Association.

    Alumni Recruitment Committee
    Stay connected with the University by becoming an Admissions volunteer! Join 700 of your fellow Spiders in helping to recruit new students as an Alumni Recruitment Committee member. As a member, you’ll get to attend college fairs, interview local students, serve as an alumni panelist at events, and keep informed about life on campus.

    Host Family Program
    Do you want to make lifelong friendships with new international students? Volunteer to be a host family through the Host Family Program, which pairs new international students with UR alumni, faculty and staff. No international or foreign language experience is required, just an open mind and an interest in learning about other cultures! You can host for one semester, one year, or all four years that your host student is attending the University of Richmond.

    Sunday, December 5, 2010  Richmond alumni and their families celebrated the holiday season at the Annual Children's Holiday Party in the Jepson Alumni Center.

    Wednesday, December 1, 2010  Boatwright Society members and their guests gathered for breakfast and to hear a University Update from Deborah Sommers, Director of the Modlin Center for the Arts.

    Monday, November 15, 2010  Alumni, family, and friends gathered at the new Carole Weinstein International Center for an internationally themed reception with remarks from Uliana Gabara, Dean of International Education, and John Hoogakker, Associate Vice President for Facilities.  The evening concluded with student led tours of the new building.

    Tuesday, October 5, 2010  Alumni and current students attended a Graduate School Panel with representatives from the following programs: Law, MBA, Public Administration, Teacher Licensure Program and the Career Development Center.

    Wednesday, September 22, 2010  Greater Richmond Spiders gathered at the Tobacco Company to welcome the Class of 2010 to the alumni network and to Richmond.

    Sunday, April 25, 2010  Alumni were invited to join the King & Queen County Historical Society for remarks from President Edward L. Ayers at the Bruington Baptist Church in St. Stephens' Church, followed by a reception.

    Thursday, March 18, 2010  Alumni gathered at Champps at Stony Point and in the Alice Haynes Room to cheer on the Spiders vs. St. Mary's in round 1 of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament in Providence, Rhode Island.

    Tuesday, March 16, 2010  Alumni gathered at The Village Bank Building at the Watkins Center for a breakfast reception with Latrell Scott, Head Football Coach at the University.  The reception was hosted by The Village Bank and Owen & Owens.

    Thursday, March 4, 2010  The Greater Richmond Alumni Chapter and the Richmond ISP Sports Network joined forces to co-host a pre-game event prior to the last regular season home men's basketball game vs. Dayton.  Over 150 guests were in attendance and helped to cheer the Spiders on to victory!

    Sunday, February 21, 2010  Alumni, family and friends gathered at the Heilman Dining Center for brunch prior to the women's basketball game vs. St. Joseph's.  Coach Shafer stopped by to say hello and thanked everyone for their support.

    Friday, December 11, 2009  The Frederic W. Boatwright Society and the Greater Richmond Alumni Chapter invited Boatwright Society members and their guests to breakfast and a University Update from Michael Kabbaz, Director of Admission.

    Sunday, December 6, 2009  Alumni and their families celebrated the holidays at the Annual Children's Holiday Party.  Unwrapped toys and books were collected for Carver Promise and a good time was had by all!

    Fall 2009  Football game watching parties were hosted at Buffalo Wild Wings throughout the regular and post season.  Richmond alumni, family and friends gathered to cheer on the Spiders as they made their way to the NCAA Quarterfinals!

    Monday, November 16, 2009  The Greater Richmond Alumni Chapter partnered with the Jepson School of Leadership Studies to host a lecture and luncheon as part of the Jepson Leadership Forum Series: Dead Aid: The Moral Imperative to Find a Better Way in Africa with Dambisa Moyo.
