Host Family Program
Do you want to make lifelong friendships with new international students? Volunteer to be a host family through the Host Family Program, which pairs new international students with UR alumni, faculty and staff. No international or foreign language experience is required, just an open mind and an interest in learning about other cultures! You can host for one semester, one year, or all four years that your host student is attending the University of Richmond.

Thursday, March 4, 2010 The Greater Richmond Alumni Chapter and the Richmond ISP Sports Network joined forces to co-host a pre-game event prior to the last regular season home men's basketball game vs. Dayton. Over 150 guests were in attendance and helped to cheer the Spiders on to victory!
Sunday, February 21, 2010 Alumni, family and friends gathered at the Heilman Dining Center for brunch prior to the women's basketball game vs. St. Joseph's. Coach Shafer stopped by to say hello and thanked everyone for their support.
Friday, December 11, 2009 The Frederic W. Boatwright Society and the Greater Richmond Alumni Chapter invited Boatwright Society members and their guests to breakfast and a University Update from Michael Kabbaz, Director of Admission.
Sunday, December 6, 2009 Alumni and their families celebrated the holidays at the Annual Children's Holiday Party. Unwrapped toys and books were collected for Carver Promise and a good time was had by all!
Fall 2009 Football game watching parties were hosted at Buffalo Wild Wings throughout the regular and post season. Richmond alumni, family and friends gathered to cheer on the Spiders as they made their way to the NCAA Quarterfinals!
Monday, November 16, 2009 The Greater Richmond Alumni Chapter partnered with the Jepson School of Leadership Studies to host a lecture and luncheon as part of the Jepson Leadership Forum Series: Dead Aid: The Moral Imperative to Find a Better Way in Africa with Dambisa Moyo.
Tuesday, May 5, 2009 The Greater Richmond Alumni Chapter celebrated Cinco de Mayo with alumni, family and friends from Washington & Lee University at Cha Cha's Cantina. A festive time was had by all!
Saturday, March 7, 2009 Dan Zanes and Friends, presented by GRAC and the Modlin Center for the Arts, performed to a crowd of alumni, family and friends at the Modlin Center.

Saturday, December 13, 2008 Alumni, family and friends gathered at Bailey's Smokehouse & Tavern to cheer on the Richmond Spiders to victory over the Northern Iowa Panthers in the Semifinals football game.

February 27 - April 19, 2008 Alumni were invited to join faculty, staff and students for the The Build It initiative. Coordinated by the Bonner Center for Civic Engagement, partnered with Boaz & Ruth, Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority, and Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity to build an affordable house in the Highland Park neighborhood of the City of Richmond.
