Young Graduate Program

Graduated this year?  Congratulations!  We're already at work on new graduate events and opportunities for you to get involved.  See the new graduate page for resources especially for the class of 2010.  In addition to these, we welcome you to the alumni association and the other opportunities for all new young graduates below.

Special Note for May 2010 new graduates: Following university procedures for conversion of student accounts to alumni accounts, May 2010 graduates will be loaded into the UR Online system during the month of June and access should be provided no later than June 30, 2010.  An e-mail will be sent to Spidermail accounts once access is available with instructions for accessing UR Online alumni privileges.  In the interim, for questions or concerns, please e-mail Robb Moore, '94 Director of UR Online.

Graduated in the last ten years?  We have something specifically for your post-college needs.  Some regional alumni chapters have activities and committies for young graduates, including cooking classes, wine tastings, happy hours, and professional development opportunities.

Young Graduate volunteers work hard (and play hard!) to help younger alumni stay in touch with the University of Richmond and with each other, in addition to gaining successful skills, leadership and community service opportunities.

As a young graduate, there are many ways in which you can continue your University of Richmond experience!

  • Alumni Benefits: An introduction to the many benefits of being a UR alumnus/alumna.
  • Regional Alumni Chapters: UR alumni gather in cities across the country and many chapters have young alumni committees and young alumni chairs to help facilitate activities specifically for young alumni.  Though young alumni are active in many chapters, areas with the largest young alumni populations have a very active presence.  Some of these areas include Atlanta Boston Chicago Philadelphia Richmond New York City, and  Washington, D.C.
  • The Young Graduates Council of the Greater Richmond Alumni Chapter is a group of young grads who help facilitate opportunities for the largest young alumni population which is in the Greater Richmond area.
  • Homecoming Weekend 2010: Come back to campus for the weekend and reconnect with classmates and friends at the football game in the new stadium, the Young Grad Reunion, and many other events November 22-24.
  • Alumni Recruitment Committee: Stay connected with the University by becoming an Admissions volunteer! Join 700 of your fellow Spiders in helping to recruit new students as an Alumni Recruitment Committee member. As a member, you’ll get to attend college fairs, interview local students, serve as an alumni panelist at events, and keep informed about life on campus. To learn more, visit http://admissions.richmond.edu/arc or contact Senior Assistant Director, Maria E. Cedeno at mcedeno@richmond.edu or (804) 289-8037.
