Welcome alumni of the School of Continuing Studies and its predecessor, University College. The Association’s mission is to benefit the school, our students and our alumni through projects and programs that provide scholarship and opportunities for service and fellowship. Last year we completed funding for our newest scholarship which will begin paying out this fall, hosted a Homecoming Breakfast, worked with the SGA on “Spiders on the Vine” and sponsored the 2nd Annual SCS/SGA Scholarship Golf Tournament. In the coming year we will again host the Homecoming Breakfast on November 7th and the 3rd Annual SCS/SGA Scholarship Golf Tournament on April 12th. Save those dates! Additionally, we will partner with the SGA and the Dean’s Advisory Council to provide further opportunities for socializing and service for all alumni. We feel strongly that a cooperative partnership between students, alumni, and staff advances our mission and creates a culture of giving that benefits the entire SCS community. As a scholarship recipient, I feel particularly motivated to give back to the school that has given me so much. But SCS has given me more than a great education. It has given me great friends, a more global outlook in the marketplace and opportunities to network with outstanding professionals. If you feel that you are better off because of your association with SCS, then I invite you to become engaged with the SCS Community. Attend an event; make a donation to the Annual Fund or a scholarship; volunteer to serve on a committee!
