Stop by the Jepson Alumni Center and pick up your welcome packet with event tickets and campus parking pass, and see a list of classmates who will be attending Reunion Weekend. This golf outing includes 18 holes of golf (greens fee, cart, etc.), lunch and refreshments on the course. Sign up as an individual or with your own foursome. The cost is $145 per person. "Making the Most of Your Digital Camera"
Jepson Hall Faculty Lounge
9:30-11:30 a.m.

Bring your digital camera to this session and pick up some new ideas that you can use right away. We will explore, in non-technical terms, the basics of digital photography including the features of cameras, printers, and photo manger software. Looking at a variety of photographs, tips will be provided on image selection, picture composition, lighting, and color. This program is sponsored by the University of Richmond's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and presented by Tim Williams, B.S., Secondary Ed., Indiana University of Pennsylvania; M.S., Education, University of Southern California; retired US Army officer and retired Dominion Virginia Power Training Specialist with over 20 years of computing experience; UR Osher Lifelong Learning Institute student and faculty member; presenter at community functions, telling his 'lifelong learning story'; chair of the Osher Institute Advisory Council. “Astride My Electra Glide®:  Continuing My Journey Through Life”

Join Dr. E. Bruce Heilman as he recounts his 19-day motorcycle journey across America, covering up to 300 miles per day, tracing the reverse route he hitchhiked as a 20-year-old, post-World War II Marine. The story of his trip continues the plot of his recently published autobiography An Interruption That Lasted A Lifetime: My First Eighty Years. This program is sponsored by the F.W. Boatwright Society. Advance registration is requested. Dr. Heilman will conduct a book signing at the bookstore in Tyler Haynes Commons following this session, from 11:45 – 1:00 p.m.

Brick Lane

Prior to the showing of the film, Brick Lane, there will be a brief lecture and discussion led by a university professor. Brick Lane, a featured film in the 20th Annual International Film series, is based on the acclaimed novel by Monica Ali, Brick Lane is a story about Nasneen, a young woman from Bangladesh, who finds herself living in the poor immigrant suburbs of London with her much older husband from an arranged marriage. While Nasneen tries to be a dutiful wife to her unimpressive husband, she spends most of her days daydreaming about home. Exquisitely developed characters and exceptional acting drive this unique coming of age story, which doesn’t shy away from complex issues of racial injustice, cultural conflicts and the true meaning of “home.” This program is sponsored by the Office of International Education. “Today’s Economic Climate”

Financial Economic Outlook with Dr. Pat Fishe, Professor of Finance, and Dr. Dean Croushore, Associate Professor of Economics and Interim Director of the Philadelphia Federal Reserve's new Real-Time Date Research Center, who will provide insight and facilitate interesting discussion. This program is sponsored by the Robins School of Business. Community engagement has always been a hallmark of education at the groundbreaking Jepson School of Leadership Studies, which celebrates the 15th anniversary of its first graduating class at Reunion 2009. To celebrate that landmark, the School’s Alumni Networking Committee has staged The 150 Days in a Lifetime of Service project. Alumni from across the nation shared their stories of service and reported hours served. You are invited to attend a brief program about community service, hear some stories about what Jepson School graduates and students are doing to help others and, perhaps, even share a story or two of your own at the reception following. Seating is limited. Advance registration is requested.

F.W. Boatwright Society Dinner and Annual Meeting

Enjoy a return to campus and visit with classmates on this special occasion. The Class of 1959 will be inducted into the Society, and selected Classes celebrating reunions will be recognized: the Classes of 1929, 1934, 1939, 1944, 1949, and 1954. Reunion classes will be seated together. The reception will begin at 5:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:00 p.m. The cost is $39 per person. There is no charge for alumni from the Class of 1959 and one guest. Complimentary valet parking will be available at the dining center. Advance registration is required.

We are pleased to bring back childcare, for the fourth year in a row, on Saturday evening of Reunion Weekend 2009. The goal is to provide your children with a comfortable, safe, and happy experience. This service is available for children ages 6 months through 12 years. The cost, payable on-site only, is $12/ per child per hour. Advance registration is required.

Ngoma African Dance Company
Camp Concert Hall, Booker Hall of Music
7:30 p.m.

Ngoma African Dance Company was founded in 1995 by University of Richmond graduate Markita Boney. The company has since grown in number and in skill, and continues to flourish.

The word "Ngoma" ( pronounced IN- 'GO- MAH) means "drum and dance" in Swahili, an African dialect. Contrary to popular belief, African dance not only includes dancing, but also acrobatics, chanting, singing and drumming. Ngoma actively incorporates this in performances.

Ngoma's purpose and inspiration is to educate its members and audience about the African culture. In addition to African dances, the company takes advantage of its talented dancers in other areas by incorporating modern, hip hop and other dances into the repertoire.

Tickets: $5 students/$8 adults in advance; $10 at the door

Join fellow alumni and guests for an evening of live music with the English Channel, playing British music from the mid '60's to the mid '70's. Non-alcoholic beverages and snacks will be available. The Office of the Chaplaincy will lead a memorial service to remember and give thanks for the lives of all the members of the reunion classes who are deceased. A luncheon will follow the service.

Come cheer on the University of Richmond women's lacrosse team as they take on Duquesne. Tickets are not required. There is no charge for this event.
