Fred Itzkowitz graduated from the School of Continuing Studies with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1975 and a Master of Commerce degree in 1976. He is president of Straus, Itzkowitz & LeCompte Insurance Agency in Richmond.
A professional insurance agent, Itzkowitz is licensed in property casualty insurance as well as life and health insurance. He has served as an underwriter with Aetna and Travelers insurance companies. Itzkowitz is active in the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.
A longtime supporter of the School of Continuing Studies, Itzkowitz endowed the Itzkowitz Family Distinguished Faculty Award in 2005. He and his wife, Claudia, have two sons, Michael and Phillip.
